Converting a Turbo Turf Hydro Seeding unit to use as an Anti-Icing Sprayer is easy!

Converting a hydro Seeding unit for ice control

Now your Turbo Turf Hydro Seeding System can be used year round.  The conversion is easy and inexpensive.  "Most" Turbo Turf Hydro Seeding Systems will work fine as an Ice Control Sprayer just the way they are.   All you need to do is add one of the booms we have available.  You will probably also want the electric control valve.  It will keep you from having to get out of your truck and change a valve every time you need to start or stop your spray.  You may want a hose package as well that will let you do sidewalks, steps and other areas where you can not drive.   If you don't expect to do a lot of that a special nozzle is available that will allow you to use your hydro seeding gun to spray deicing chemicals.

Suitable Turbo Turf Hydro Seeding units

Turbo Turf units that can be used for Ice Control are all units 300 gallons and above.   The 50, 100 & 150 gallon units can be used but if your unit has an aluminum pump you will be a little more limited on materials and can only use materials that will not react with aluminum.  If you are planning to buy a new 50, 100, or 150 gallon unit and want to use it both for hydroseeding and Ice Control we can equip the unit with a poly pump that will work for both.  There is no additional charge for this change.

Picking a boom

There are several booms that will work with your Turbo Turf Hydro Seeding System to convert it into an Ice control sprayer.   Our most popular boom is the turret boom that slides into a 2" x 2" truck receiver.   It has a turret nozzle set up that allows you do dial in the nozzle you wish to use (see photo below).   It comes with one low speed fan nozzle set up, one higher speed fan nozzle set up and on straight nozzle for de-icing.   Nozzles can be changed in seconds.  The nozzles are shielded on three sides to prevent stone damage and ice build up.   The boom height can easily be adjusted as well.   It also is available with extender nozzles to do three lanes at once.  The one lane turret boom is $ 495.00 and the three lane set up is $ 895.00

Electric valves for in cab control

The boom is all you need if you want to run back and turn the boom on and off by hand but most like the convenience of the in cab controller.   This is an electric valve, a cable, and a toggle switch that allows you to turn the spray bar on and off from the cab of your truck.  The valve, cable and control box with switch is $ 385.00 for the one lane boom or $ 895.00 for the three lane boom.
